Homework, aka Learning Opportunities.
Homework is meaningful independent practice which requires time and effort outside the classroom and has an articulated purpose tied to content standards but is not scored. However, completion of homework, which shows responsibility, effort, and work timeliness, will be reflected in a student’s citizenship grade.
Reading Homework
Five nights a week, students will be expected to read 10 minutes in French AND 10 minutes in English. They will record their reading in their school planner. Reading completion will be checked each Friday.
Math Homework
When students receive math homework, it will be due the following day. It will be given as a learning opportunity for students who still need help mastering the specific standard taught in class.
All math pages (if lost or misplaced) can be reprinted from the GO Math website (see the Math tab). Instructions on how to print the pages are found here on pages 26-27.
Late Work Policy.
We are hoping for the students to be responsible and turn their work in on time. However, late work is accepted after the due date (whether because of illness, vacation, emergency, appointment, or being unprepared). The LAST day to turn in late work is always one week before the end of the term.
